The 27-year-old rapper wore a bra top and jacket and was joined on stage by a team of dancers.
Ciara gyrated and rapped on stage while belting out the tune. Midway through, the tempo changed and Ciara took a seat on the steps to sing.
Nicki also kicked off the show with a duet with R&B singer Chris Brown.
The awards show was held at Nokia Theatre L.A. on Sunday (June 30) in Los Angeles.
