Beyoncé has given birth. No tabloid rumor this time. BFF Gywneth Paltrow confirmed that Bea and husband Jay-Z, aka Shawn Carter, have a new baby girl.

The couple named the baby Blue Ivy Carter, according to E! Online. Beyonce gave birth by caesarean section at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City last night.

Welcome to the world Blue! We love you already,” Paltrow tweeted.

Beyoncé checked into the Upper East Side hospital using the name Ingrid Jackson, according to the New York Daily News.

Security was tightened at the Upper East Side hospital. Workers were told to turn in their mobile phones and security cameras were covered with tape to prevent photos from finding their way to the Internet.

Beyoncé reportedly spent $1.3 million to rent the entire fourth floor of the private hospital wing. Hopefully no other maternity patients were put out.

A doctor, however, was reportedly heard complaining the he couldn’t check up on his patients because of the heavy security, according to the News.

The hospital near the couple’s mid-town Manhattan apartment in the towering Bloomberg Building.

Blue Ivy is the couple’s first child. They have been married since 2008. Last week the Internet was awash in rumors that Beyonce had already had her baby.

But sister Solange rebutted the reports. The singer had spent New Year’s Eve at her house party in Brooklyn, she Tweeted. “Shout out to my sister for being THE cutest pregnant woman ever!”

Baby and mother are said to be doing fine.
