Jennifer Hudson was rushed to hospital this morning (June 10) after complaining about severe abdominal pains following her performance on “Good Morning America.” Is her rapid weight loss to blame?
The “Dreamgirls” star was taken to a New York emergency room, and her representative said later she was diagnosed with food poisoning. She was released to recuperate at home.
“Jennifer Hudson went to the hospital due to severe abdominal pains. She was treated for food poisoning and released,” the statement from her rep read.
Hudson has been flaunting her new shape after losing more than 80 pounds. But some claim she’s gone too far, losing too much weight too quickly.
Rapid weight loss can lead to digestive and stomach problems.
Jennifer also canceled a planned appearance on “The Early Show” today.
Hudson plans to write an account of her tremendous weight loss to help “inspire” others.
But she has admitted grappling with her new physique.
“I’m still not used to my new self yet, so I’m figuring out who I am right now. Like, how do I want to be perceived? Who am I?” she said.
Jennifer also gave birth during that time to a son, David Jr., with fiance David Otunga. David is now 21 months old.
“Along with a physical change, it is also a mental change, so my mind has to play catch up with what everybody else sees,” she added.
“I haven’t got there yet. I go shopping and pick up an outfit in an extra-large or large. Physically I might be right, but not mentally.”
