  • beyonce-gagaLady Gaga makes a cameo in Beyonce’s new  “Video Phone,”  video and in an unusual twist, GaGa tones down her act, while Beyonce ramps up hers.

The video premiered on MTV and VH1 last night (Nov. 16) and is a non-stop frenzy of images and poses.

A much toned-down Gaga makes her cameo midway through the vid, and she and Beyonce wear matching white bustiers. The duo does an impressive chair dance together as well.

Gaga said she told Beyonce last month, “‘I don’t want to show up in some frickin’ hair bow and be fashion Gaga in your video.’ I said, ‘I want to do you.'”

But it looks like Beyonce wanted to be Gaga. Talk about  Sasha Fierce! Beyonce goes crazy with costume changes, and the gangster images and war references are outside her envelope.

She also does a tribute to ‘50s sex siren Bettie Page.

The opening sequence is a play on Quentin Tarentino’s classic film, “Reservoir Dogs,” about the aftermath of a botched jewelry store robbery. Beyonce walks down the street in a Zorro mask with a group of thugs then points a gun at a hooded prisoner. What’s that about?

Lady Gaga’s new album will hit stores in a week, and the Beyonce video gives her a chance to get in front of the public.

The album’s lead single, “Bad Romance,” has been out for a few weeks and has an eye-popping video as well. Beyoncé/Gaga also collaborated on “Telephone” video from Gaga’s upcoming The Fame Monster album.

“I spent a lot of nights in Eastern Europe, and this album is a pop experimentation with industrial/Goth beats, ’90s dance melodies, an obsession with the lyrical genius of ’80s melancholic pop and the runway,” Gaga told MTV.com.
