  • New York audiences will get a rare, inside look into the Nobel Peace Prize-winning Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) in a new special one-time showing of a documentary, “Living in Emergency: Stories of Doctors Without Borders LIVE with Elizabeth Vargas.” This is an exclusive, one-night only event to be broadcast live from New York University.

The documentary will be broadcast live via satellite from NYU, Skirball Center in Manhattan to thousands of Americans seated in nearly 450 movie theaters across the country.

Doctors Without Borders gave a documentary crew unlimited and uncensored access to its field operations in war-torn Congo and post-conflict Liberia.

The critically acclaimed documentary, “Living in Emergency,”(shortlisted for a 2010 Oscar nomination), interweaves the stories of four doctors who are forced to confront the limits of their idealism in the face of overwhelming medical needs.

Following the documentary, Elizabeth Vargas, anchor of ABC News 20/20, will moderate a LIVE town hall discussion with frontline aid workers and award-winning journalists, including Sebastian Junger, best-selling author of “The Perfect Storm” and Vanity Fair contributing editor.
