om Cruise hot-foots it in a scene from his new sci-fi action/adventure flick ‘Edge of Tomorrow.

Tom Cruise can’t seem to escape doing science fiction movies so why not do a sci-fi film where he simply can’t escape?

“Edge of Tomorrow” fits the bill. In a new trailer, Cruise is forced to die over and over again as he fights off an alien invasion.

It’s the “Risky Business” boy’s third straight science fiction action-adventure movie.

It follows 2012’s “Jack Reacher” and last year’s “Oblivion.”

“Reacher” pulled in a respectable $218 million, thanks to a solid run overseas, although it only did $80 million in the United States against a $60 million budget.

The far classier “Oblivion,” topped that with a $280 million gross, with the lion’s share coming from overseas, again. But it cost a third again as much, at $120 million, to make.

The critics found “Reacher” tolerable, but “Oblivion” failed to make the cut on rottentomatoes, a Web site that tracks reviews.

Still, Cruise is getting enough box office bank to stick with it.

In “Edge of Tomorrow,” Cruise’s character, Lt. Col. William “Bill” Cage and his hottie pal, Special Forces soldier Rita Vrataski (Emily Blunt) get caught in a time loop.

With each death, Cage picks up a little more knowledge about the enemy that helps him survive longer. Rita helps train him to finally meet the challenge.

The trailer tips that the the film will be non-stop action with lots of bang-bang special effects and awesome time-bending.

Doug Liman directs; Bill Paxton, Brendan Gleeson and Jeremy Piven also star.
