Tommy Lee is snapping back at his family. He may have been drunk when his son Brandon punched him out earlier this week. But, hey, the Mötley Crüe drummer says he’s no alcoholic, even if his family, and ex-wife Pamela Anderson say otherwise.
The 55-year-old rocker was left him with a fat lip, and bruised ego, after Brandon smacked him.
Afterward, both Brandon, 21, and mom Pam, 50, slammed Tommy for drinking, which they claim was at the heart of the altercation.
“Do I drink more than the average Joe? Yes. Have I ever hurt my sons or acted out of turn with them because of my drinking? No,” he declared in a statement to gossip site TMZ.
“No matter how much people wanna pin me as this deviant alcoholic abuser, that isn’t me. I’m a happy fun loving guy.”
Tommy insists he never laid a hand on his kid. “When I stood up he pushed me into a wall. I didn’t want to hit my son. I never have and I never will.”
At this juncture, he says an apology would be in order “to show that he actually felt bad, but he doesn’t,” he said.
Brandon who doesn’t drink or do drugs had this to say:
“I’m devastated at the events of the last several days that have been a result of my father’s alcoholism. ‘ve worked tirelessly organizing an intervention and it’s incredibly upsetting that it never came to fruition. I wanted my dad’s hopeful sobriety and recovery to be a private family matter but, as a result of his accusations on social media, I feel forced to speak out. I have and will continue to cooperate with law enforcement as needed. I love my father and just want to see him sober, happy and healthy.”
Anderson was married to the drummer from 1995 to 1998. Both Dylan Jagger Lee and Brandon are her children.
“I have complete faith in Brandon and his team to resolve this unfortunate and sad situation regarding his father,” she wrote on her Web site. “I pray Tommy gets the help he needs,” she said in a lengthy statement posted on her Web site.
She called his actions “desperate and humiliating.”
