Ariana Grande must have a feature movie career on her mind. Her new video for her song “One Last Time” is a high-production value short film that features her acting–acting!–in an end-of-the-world scenario. Hello, Hollywood?

Although she usually performs in little cat’s ears and tiny black dresses, she gets fully into character in her latest video.

Only one problem: The camera focuses mainly on the back of her head and all viewer see is her bouncing ponytail.

In any event, the vid opens with static-filled news broadcasts about earth’s near collision with a huge comet. Ariana is riding in her car when the news breaks.

She jumps out after getting stuck in traffic and wades into a chaotic street scene. She’s dressed in casual street clothes, just one of the peeps trying to push her way through the crowd.

She squirms through a police line on her way to an apartment building. Her cameraman doggedly trails her. She climbs to the roof of the building as explosions fill the air.

Where the hell is she going? Oh… into the arms of her lover.

Grande, 21, already has solid acting cred.

She appeared on Broadway as a 13-year-old and became a Nickelodeon television network star in her 2009 series “Victorious.” She also scored her own spin-off “Sam & Cat,” which ended last year.

She scored a breakout in her music career a year earlier with the release of her No. 1 charting debut studio album Yours Truly. Last summer, however, was really her breakout year.

She has what’s been described as a crystal clear, four-octave “light lyric soprano” vocal range. She’s been compared to Mariah Carey and Christina Aguilera, two of the most distinctive voices in pop music.

But feature-length movies are definitely on her career agenda.
