Willow Smith, the 10-year-old daughter of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, showed she can bring her own stuff when she performed today on Ellen De Generes.
Willow, made her television and live performance debut on the talk show with a sampling of Rihanna’s “Only Girl,” followed by a rousing performance of her single “Whip My Hair.”
in a recent radio interview, Willow told Ryan Seacrest the meaning of the song.
“You can’t be afraid to be yourself,” Willow explained. “You have to be yourself and you can’t let anyone tell you that it’s wrong!”
Her video for the song was directed by Ray Kay and features a cameo from Willow’s big bro, Jaden Smith.
In her chat with Ellen, Willow gave the low down on young, young, Hollywood.
Acting, she said, fulfills her career, while singing is just “pleasurous.”
Willow put on a professional performance, which belies her age, proving that she has real stage presence.
She also knows her music.
“You make me feel like I’m the only girl in the world!” she yelled reciting a line from Rihanna’s “Only Girl” before jumping into her own song.
