Britney Spears has long been a gay icon, so Out magazine pays due homage to the pop princess with an interview and photo spread in its current issue. But the pop singer makes it perfectly clear: “I only have eyes for men!”
Spears has had more than her share of ups and downs since her debut in a sexy Catholic school uniform in 1999, including a particularly dark period of head-shaving, crotch flashing and all around craziness.
Since her breakdown and guardianship, her father Jamie is calling the shots these days, Britney has gotten back on track.
“We love her because she gives us the kind of pop music we demand for our workouts and woozy weekend nights, and because she has never tried to play the guitar or wandered off to make a country album,” the magazine swoons.

“We love her because she’s a survivor, and for all of the shit that’s said about her, she still glides to the top of the charts whenever she releases an album.”
On the eve of the release of her seventh studio album, Femme Fatale, Spears discussed via email a range of issues, mostly inane, about herself and her career.
She saw her first Britney Spears drag queen in New Orleans singing “Slave 4 U.” “I almost died!” she said.
She calls Femme Fatale here “most upbeat and mature album yet.”
As for her sexuality, Britney makes it clear. When asked what women (living or dead) could make her think twice about her sexuality, Brit replied: “I only have eyes for men.”
