  • UK singing sensation Nicola Roberts has turned up the sexual heat in a new video for her upcoming song “Yo Yo,” the third single since she left pop girl group, Girls Aloud, for a solo career.

Robert is credited with a more grown up sound, while she flaunts her sexuality in the video, with scenes of her stripped down to her bra and underwear and taking shower.

Roberts is one of those artists whose career was born out of a music talent reality show. As part of four-member band, Girls Aloud, she competed on the UK show “Popstars The Rivals” when she was just 16.

Winning was based on the success of a song on the pop charts, and Girls Aloud’s “Sound of the Underground” soared to the top of the UK charts.

The group, the most successful in television reality show history, went on to record 20 consecutive top ten singles, and five albums.

This year, Roberts, 26, released her debut solo album Cinderella’s Eyes, her debut solo single “Beat of My Drum.” Critics praised them, but sales have been lukewarm.

“Beat Of My Drum” released in June hit No. 17 on the UK charts and her second single “Lucky Day” fizzled out at No 40.

“Yo Yo,” is also off the Cinderella’s Eyes album.

Although the song may be her best solo effort yet, it sounds familiar themes about clothes, parties, meeting boys and ultimately facing disappointment when she catches her boyfriend kissing another girl.
