Pink is back. How did the party ever started without her? She sat for a raucous interview with Ellen DeGeneres Monday (Sept. 10) that included some mommy talk, champagne toasts, a ribald song and surprise appearance by U.S. Olympic gymnasts.
Ellen is definitely loosening up the format during her premiere week, now that she faces major competition from Katie Couric’s new daytime talk show.
Pink, real name Alecia Beth Moore, just turned 33 last weekend and has spent the past 15 months giving birth to, and raising, daughter Willow, who was also featured on the show in photos.
The explosive singer, known for her hard-rocking party anthems, is back at work and getting ready to release a new album. Having a baby has given her a new outlook on life, she said.
“I’m way more fun. I used to wake up and go, ‘I should check my pulse. I don’t feel good. What am I gonna do today? I don’t know if I’m happy,'” she explained.
“And now I’m like, “Let’s start with a cuddle! What song are we singing?” And it’s just a dance party. And now my husband can’t call me a freak, ’cause somebody’s dancing with me.”
The singer took the stage with her trademark blonde Mohawk, wearing a tight leopard print dress, which she could barely keep on. She flashed her panties, more like workout shorts, as she greeted Ellen.
Pink is known for her aerobatic performances and trained in gymnastics growing up. Ellen surprised her with a visit by Olympic gymnasts Gabrielle Douglas, McKayla Maroney and Kyla Ross. They gave her an autographed box of cereal.
Her sixth studio album, titled The Truth About Love, will be released on Sept. 18. She sang the lead track “Blow Me (One Last Kiss),” which was released in July on iTunes. She’ll also hit the road for a fall tour.
