Christina Aguilera may have been gone from the music scene for a while, but she’s not about to give up anything to reigning queen Lady Gaga — including vamping it up in bondage gear.
The pop star, who is returning from a hiatus after spending time being a full-time mom, wrote the book on raunch when she created her X-tina persona back in the early 2000s. Now she’s showing how it’s done.
In a stunning photo spread in the German edition of GQ magazine, Aguilera shows off her post-baby body in poses that bespeak German noir decadence.
The photo spread is right in step with her risqué music video for her new single, “Not Myself Tonight,” which raised eyebrows when it was released two weeks ago.
Her new album, Bionic, drops June 8.
Aguilera, 29, bares almost all for the new cover, wearing only gloves and a pair of laced-up thigh-high boots. But she strategically covers all the private places.
Oddly, she credits being a mother for her ramped up sexuality.
“I’m more confident and comfortable in my own skin. I think I’m even a more sexual Christina,” she said in an interview with Atlanta’s Q100 Bert Show.
“That’s part of the change of having a child for me – seeing your body do these things you never thought possible,” she added.
“When you have a baby, you go through a period where your body is not your own. It becomes for your child and that’s it.
“Once you bounce back from that and kind of get your body back … I feel better than ever. It’s a great feeling.”
Aguilera’s son, Max, is now two years old.
The former Disney child star acknowledged that she is a “very sexual person” and didn’t want to lose that trait after becoming a mother.
Although some blog critics say she’s imitating Gaga’s style, it’s really the other way around.
“That, in particular, is not even worth wasting the breath to comment on,” she said. “I’ve been around for over a decade and I think my work speaks for myself.”
