Gaga looks stunningly slim in the photo with slender legs and arms and a small waist.

She’s photographed against a gray background but her arms and legs are heavily shadowed, a sign that they were possibly digitally altered. While the shadowing provides contrast, it’s also a well-known method to slim down arms, legs and torso.

She’s wearing a wig or extensions.

Fashion photographer Vinoodh Matadi, who works with partner Inez Van Lamsweerde, posted the photo on his Instagram page on Saturday. “Get ready world for our pics of @ladygaga for @vmagazine !kisses iv #artpop,” he wrote.

In February a year ago, Gaga revealed during a Q&A session with students at the Brentwood School in Los Angeles that she suffered from bulimia in high school.

“I used to throw up all the time in high school,” Gaga admitted. “So I’m not that confident. I wanted to be a skinny little ballerina, but I was a voluptuous little Italian girl whose dad had meatballs on the table every night.”

Gaga shocked fans when dehydration and exhaustion forced her to cancel several concerts earlier this year. Insiders claimed the hot pop singer was caught in a vicious cycle of weight gain and loss.

Her dangerous dieting led to at least six hospitalizations in 2009, according to ex-manager David Ciemny. “When I say she was sick,” he says, “I mean physically and mentally.”

Photos circulated late last year showing Gaga packing an extra 25 pounds. It’s not known when the latest photo was taken.

Gaga is hard at work on her next album, entitled Art Pop. She’s been exceptionally secretive about the direction of her music. Her first single is expected Aug. 19. The album will be released Nov. 11 with pre-orders beginning Sept. 1.
