The video is a quick follow up to the release of the track.
Although mostly known as an actress, Hale says music is her first love. She says she grew up listening to Faith Hill and Shania Twain, which is no surprise, since she channels the styles of both artists.
Hale has built a solid fan base from her role on the ABC mystery-thriller series. She debuted on the show in 2010 as Aria Montgomery, described as her clique’s “artsy girl,” according to the production company.
She’s won a Teen Choice award every year she’s been on the show, including nods for best actress, rising star and best summer television actress. With her sky-high popularity, expanding the brand seemed to be the next logical step.
Disney-owned Hollywood Records signed her to a deal in 2012. The song and album were expected last year, but she seems on track to get things done this year, especially now that the song and video are out.
The clip, which shows Hale and friends on a road trip was directed by Philip Andelman, who has worked with Taylor Swift, Lenny Kravitz and the Jonas Brothers among other artists.
