  • This light and airy restaurant features French windows, bright-whitewashed walls with blue accents and banquettes, skylights, an indoor patio and rotating art exhibits.

    Blue Sky Mediterranean Lounge in Sag Harbor will open in May at the former site of Spinnakers. Executive Chef and Managing Partner Giuseppe “Beppe” Desiderio teams up with owner Jerry Wawryk to serve reasonably priced Mediterranean cuisine.

    The light and airy restaurant features French windows, bright-whitewashed walls with blue accents and banquettes, skylights, an indoor patio and rotating art exhibits.

    The eatery recently garnered a “very good” (two stars) rating from Peter Gianotti of Newsday. “[Desiderio’s] breezy, Mediterranean-inspired menu and easygoing approach suit the season and the mood.”

    Joanne Starkey of The New York Times also rated the restaurant “very good” (two stars) and called it “a happy addition to the Hamptons.”

    The menu features appetizers from $5 to $17, salads from $8 to $10, and entrées from $10 to $28. Items are also paired with suggested wines from Spain, Portugal, France and Italy to reflect the Mediterranean cuisine and to complement the menu selection.

    BlueSky Sag Harbor

    Starters include: Bruschetta with cherry tomatoes, mozzarella and basil; Lobster spring roll with puff pastry, lobster and garlic rabe and Tzakiki lamb chops with pan seared lamb and cucumber tartare.

    Also on the menu: Tuna carpaccio with arugula, baby onions, shaved Reggiano; and cheese plate with Pecorino, manchego, feta and brie.

    Entrées include: Linguine Lobster with fra diavolo black linguine and imported cherry tomatoes sauce; Brick oven roast chicken Saloniki with preserved lemon sauce, herbs and escarole.

    Also on the menu: Tuna Provence with olive tapenade, capers and cherry tomatoes; and paella d’ España with clams, mussels, shrimp, lobster, chorizo, chicken, orzo and tomato broth.

    Desserts are prepared daily and may include gelatos, sorbets, and apple crostata.

    Lunch selections range from $6 to $18 and include: Cod fish and chips; Mussels meuniére with garlic broth and Pinot Gris crème; and vegetarian panini with zucchine, peppers, mushrooms and fries.

    The restaurant will be open seven days for lunch and dinner from 11:30 a.m. Sunday brunch will also be available from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
