Miley Cyrus is back, doing what she does so well–getting naked–in a new video for her song “Midnight Sky.”

The video is a bit of the old Miley from her Bangerz days, with a touch more sophistication and glamour.

Apparently the music was inspired by her breakup with ex-husband Liam Hemsworth.

Ironically, she released it along with word that she had split from Cody Simpson, after a 10-month fling.

Simpson, 24, was a relative boy toy compared to Miley, who turns 28 in November.

Simpson was remarkably good about the breakup.

“So proud of you. Congratulations to the most special of all,” he wrote on social media site Instagram.

Miley turned to Instagram with her own message.

She told fans they were taking time off to “work on” themselves.

“So today, it came out that me and my boyfriend have broken up,” she wrote.

“It was confirmed by a ‘reliable source’ even though no one is reliable in a relationship except the individuals who are participating in it.

“But right now, two halves can’t make a whole and we’re individually just working on ourselves to become the people that we wanna be, like everybody else at this age,” she continued.

“We are just deciding who we wanna be in our lives, what we wanna do, and so, don’t make it some drama story if next week we’re hanging out, getting pizza.

“We’ve been friends for 10 years and we’re going to continue to be friends, so just don’t make it something that it is not.”

With that as a backdrop, the video opens with Cyrus looking like she just stepped off the beach in Ibiza in a dramatic Chanel bathing suit.

But she vamps it up with holes in her stockings and rhinestone-studded gloves.

The scene alternates with Miley singing in a yellow polka-dot halter top and black leather pants.

From there she vaults into an amethyst-colored sequined gown with a thigh-high split against a candy-colored back drop with multi-colored jungle animals.

Miley waits until a minute and 42 seconds into the video to shed her top and shield her bare breasts with a strategically placed arm.

The camera cuts to a long shot, and, yes, Miley is naked except for some jewelry.

She also flashes her breast under a ’80s style hounds-tooth jacket.

One shot also shows her opening her black and white coat while covering one of her bare breast before throwing the jacket aside.

Cyrus explained the lyrics in an interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music, confirming the song was inspired by her breakup with Hemsworth.

“Talking about ‘Midnight Sky,’ specifically, I felt like my story and my narrative had kind of been told for me over the past year. Obviously, I went through an extremely public breakup and, even more than that, a divorce, and with someone that I had been with for ten years,” she said.

“I felt kind of villainized. It felt like I would rather be able to articulate this experience in a poetic way that also I can put back into my art. I never really have engaged.”

The song has a decidedly disco vibe, which one fan noted.

“Miley has done pop, ballads, country, rock, rap, rnb, and now disco… shes really one of the most versatile artists and i think that’s why shes so underrated.”

Miley underrated? Well, that may be a stretch.

Check out the video below and the lyrics below that.

    [Intro]
    La, la, la-la, la

    [Verse 1]
Yeah, it’s been a long night and the mirror’s telling me to go home
But it’s been a long time since I felt this good on my own (Uh)
Lotta years went by with my hands tied up in your ropes (Your ropes)
Forever and ever, no more (No more)

    [Pre-Chorus]
The midnight sky is the road I’m takin’
Head high up in the clouds (Oh, oh)

    [Chorus]
I was born to run, I don’t belong to anyone, oh no
I don’t need to be loved by you (By you)
Fire in my lungs, can’t bite the devil on my tongue, oh no
I don’t need to be loved by you
See my lips on her mouth, everybody’s talkin’ now, baby
Ooh, you know it’s true (Yeah, yeah)
That I was born to run, I don’t belong to anyone, oh no
I don’t need to be loved by you (Loved by you)

    [Post-Chorus]
    La, la, la-la, la

    [Verse 2]
She got her hair pulled back ’cause the sweat’s drippin’ off of her face (Her face)
Said, “It ain’t so bad if I wanna make a couple mistakes”
You should know right now that I never stay put in one place
Forever and ever, no more (No more)

    [Pre-Chorus]
The midnight sky is the road I’m takin’
Head high up in the clouds (Oh, oh)

    [Chorus]
I was born to run, I don’t belong to anyone, oh no
I don’t need to be loved by you (By you)
Fire in my lungs, can’t bite the devil on my tongue, oh no
I don’t need to be loved by you
See my lips on her mouth, everybody’s talkin’ now, baby
Ooh, you know it’s true (Yeah)
That I was born to run, I don’t belong to anyone, oh no
I don’t need to be loved by you (By you)

    [Bridge]
    Oh
I don’t hide blurry eyes like you
    Like you

    [Chorus]
I was born to run, I don’t belong to anyone, oh no
I don’t need to be loved by you (By you)
Fire in my lungs, can’t bite the devil on my tongue, you know
I don’t need to be loved by you
See his hands ’round my waist, thought you’d never be replaced, baby
Ooh, you know it’s true (Yeah)
That I was born to run, I don’t belong to anyone, oh no
I don’t need to be loved by you (Yeah)
