Wayne, real name Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr., spent six days in intensive care at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles after suffering a seizure and being found unconscious the next day.
Neither Wayne, nor the hospital, has released a diagnosis, but the consensus among various reports is that he suffered a drug overdose related to a cough-medicine concoction known on the street as Sizurrp. Now back home, Weezy released a video thanking all his supporters and letting everyone know he’s “better than good.”
The title for the song translates “Rich as F*ck,” and will appear on the new album. Wayne is joined by 2 Chainz and bling is the thing the gets them rhyming. The clip, however, is a departure from his previous videos, according to MTV, although it has all the familiar elements.
It opens with a dream-like sequence. A woman appears with her sheer dress blowing in the wind under the moonlight on a desert landscape. The scene fades to Wayne sitting on the barren ground, and then it cuts to a line of police cars off in the distance. He disses the police.
“Never talk to the cops,
I don’t speak Pig Latin/
I turned a penny to a mother—in’ Janet Jackson.”
Chainz takes over for the song’s chorus.
“Look at you, now look at us
All my n—as rich as f—,”
The video has high production values and is rich visually. Looks like Weezy spent a bit of his stash to pull it off.
I Am Not a Human Being II hits the streets March 26. The highly anticipated sequel to his eighth studio album, 2010′s I Am Not a Human Being, features Nicki Minaj, Big Sean, 2 Chainz, Drake, Juicy J, Soulja Boy and Future, among others.
Wayne also said he would hit the road to back up his album on July 5, the day after chowing down on barbecue to celebrate the Fourth of July.
