Cristie Kerr, the 2007 U.S. Women’s Open Champion and 16-time LPGA winner, hosted the 9th Annual Hamptons Golf Classic, a day-long charity golf tournament at the Hampton Hills Golf & Country Club. Real estate brokers Susan and Matthew Breitenbach were honored and The Diamonds in the Rough Foundation was the beneficiary.

BMW and Hamptons magazine sponsored the tournament. New York Jets linebacker Nick Mangold, NBC anchor Jane Hanson, and designer Ian Velardi, dubbed the Best New Menswear designer in America by GQ magazine, were among those who came out for the event.

Hamptons Golf Classic Draws Celebrities

Two-time longest drive champion Carl Wolfer tested guests with his longest drive while Mathew Fraas and his team won the overall competition and took home the Hamptons Golf Classic’s coveted trophy.

FounderrZev Norotsky and Debra Halpert, publisher of Hamptons magazine, presented a check for $10,000 to Southampton Hospital’s President Steven M. Bernstein and CEO Robert S. Chaloner. The funds were earmarked for the Ellen Hermanson Breast Center on behalf of The Diamonds In The Rough Foundation and Kerr’s Birdies for Breast Cancer charity.

The Hamptons Golf Classic has become a signature event during the Hamptons summer season. It supports a great charitable cause and creates a fun competition with the spirit of the Hamptons. The Hamptons Golf Classic is an annual opportunity for participants to enjoy access to the exclusive, members-only club.

The course was designed and built in 1965 by Francis J. Duane, a past president of the American Society of Golf Course Architects. Spread over 209 acres of rolling hills, the club has earned a rating of 73.6 with a slope of 139. Hampton Hills boasts incredibly scenic vistas.
