  • The Grammys. Adele. End of story. The UK songstress made things simple at last night’s award show. She won all six awards for which she was nominated including Album of the Year and Record of the Year.

    Her celebratory comeback was highlighted by a stirring performance of “Rolling in the Deep” from her album 21, the best selling of 2011, with more than 17 million sold.

    “Rolling in the Deep” was the year’s best-selling single, moving nearly 6 million copies. The song won Record of the Year.

    There was no surprise in the outcome. Adele was heavily favored leading up to the show following announcement of the nominations. She blew by such acts as Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, the Foo Fighters and Bruno Mars.

    Adele’s performance was the first on live television since she underwent vocal cord surgery in November to remove a hemorrhaging polyp.

    Adele also won for Song of the Year, Best Pop Vocal Album, Best Pop Solo Performance for “Someone Like You” and Best Short Form Music Video for “Rolling in the Deep.”

    “This is ridiculous,” Adele said astonished by her own success. “I can’t believe I’m getting emotional already,” she said after picking up another award. “And seeing as it’s a vocal performance, I need to thank my doctors, I suppose, who brought my voice back.”

    The Foo Fighters walked away with five Grammy Awards, including Best hard Rock/ Metal Performance for “White Limo” and Best Rock Performance for “Walk. ”
