    David Crosby, who personified the ’60s counterculture through his music with The Byrds and Crosby, Stills & Nash (sometimes Young), is hip deep in the presidential fray along with bandmate Stephen Stills, who’s lambasting GOP candidate Mitt Romney. Crosby will be featured on Brett Winterble’s show on XM Satellite Radio (Channel 168) on Monday (Nov. 5). The interview could be electric. Winterble used to work for right-wing screamer and conspiracy formentor Rush Limbaugh....

    Bruce Springsteen Headlines NBC Telethon for Sandy Victims

    Bruce Springsteen, Christina Aguilera, Billy Joel, Sting and Jon Bon Jovi are among the headliners who have signed up to perform in a special one-hour broadcast to help raise money for the Red Cross on behalf of Hurricane Sandy victims. The special, which will air on NBC and Bravo and USA cable networks was announced today by NBCUniversal. The “Today Show’s” Matt Lauer will host the telethon, titled “Hurricane Sandy: Coming Together,” and late-night talk show host Jimmy Fallon will also appear....

    Taylor Swift played New York’s Times Square this morning as part of her “Good Morning America” promotional appearances for her new album “Red.” After talking about how she wrote the songs, she sang two of her new hits to a throng of fans. Swift has been previewing songs for the album for the past several weeks in a run up to the album’s release yesterday (Oct. 23). She performed new singles “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” and “Red,” both of which are controversial because they were reportedly inspired by her breakup with movie actor Jake Gyllenhaal.     Micky Dolenz, riding a newfound wave of popularity since his Monkee days, headlined a show at New York’s landmark B.B. King Bar and Grill that ranged from favorites like “I’m a Believer” to songs from his new album Remember. Dolenz, a multi-talented child actor, vaulted to pop culture icon with his two-year stint on ’60s comedy show “The Monkees,” about the antics of a band based on The Beatles. The show’s stars Dolenz, Peter Tork, Michael Nesmith and Davy Jones were all musicians in their own right, and The Monkees became a musical force all its own after the show ended. Dolenz has remained active ever since, either as a Monkee in reunion tours or with his own band. Last night it included Wayne Avers, Dave Alexander, Rich Dart, Coco and David Billings....
