Selena Gomez is taking a page out of Katy Perry’s playbook with a candy-colored romp in her new video for “Hit The Lights,” which she shot this week in California.
Boyfriend Justin Bieber and his tawdry sex scandal is thankfully out of mind as Selena goes back to the future to a more carefree time when she was still a foot-loose and fancy free Disney kid.
In the playful new music video, the 19-year-old dances chest deep in pink balloons, wearing a strapless, electric blue top, hot-pink skirt and pink-frame sun glasses, sporting a totally ’60s retro look.

According to a series of photos from the video shoot, Selena poses like a sexy ingenue with red, white and blue streak hair and a shoulder exposing top in a cornfield, a come hither look in her eyes.
She’s also pictured in a yellow disco dress carrying a huge yellow balloon as a group of friends with balloons follows her.
In one of the hottest scenes in the video, Selena arches her back and tilts her head longingly wearing red short-shorts and an off-the-shoulder blouse.
The video stills are a contrast to the more mature look she’s been sporting in her concerts and on dates with Bieber, as if she’s trying to hold onto her childhood and sexual innocence.
She sings:
It’s the time that you totally screwed up
Still you’re trying get it out your brain,
It’s the fight you had when you didn’t make up,
It’s the past that you’re dying to change.
Seems like the lyrics could almost apply to her current predicament with boyfriend Justin.
Despite early tabloid reports that she dumped him because of the scandal, Gomez has made a strong pubic showing of support in several appearances with the teen sensation.
Selena was under the spotlight in more ways than one at the MTV EMAs, not only facing the heavy-duty task of emceeing the show, but also facing down rumors about Justin.
Justin was also there for the show, and Selena stood by her man after he forcefully denied allegations that he had a backstage tryst with 20-year-old Mariah Yeater.
Meanwhile, Justin’s first-ever Christmas album, Under the Mistletoe hit No. 1 on the U.S. pop charts.
She sang “Hit The Lights” in a glittering purple leotard at the shoe. The video will be released this Wednesday.
