Selena Gomez has released a new video for a remix of her song “Hit the Lights,” the peppy dance tune that declares you never need to be afraid to let loose. She announced the video via Twitter.
“This video is more organic than anything I’ve done before. It’s about being with people you love and enjoying the moment and embracing the moment you’re in your life,” Selena told MTV when she released her original video last November.
In the song, she sings:
“It’s the boy you never told you liked,
It’s the girl you let get away,
It’s the one you saw that day on the train
but you freaked out and walked away.”

The song is the third single released off Gomez’s album, When the Sun Goes Down.
In the original video, the 19-year-old dances chest deep in pink balloons, wearing a strapless, electric blue top, hot-pink skirt and pink-frame sun glasses, sporting a totally ’60s retro look.
Selena poses like a sexy ingenue with red, white and blue streaked hair and a shoulder exposing top in a cornfield, a come hither look in her eyes, according to photos from the shoot.
She’s also pictured in a yellow disco dress carrying a huge yellow balloon as a group of friends with balloons follows her.
In one of the hottest scenes in the video, Selena arches her back and tilts her head longingly wearing red short-shorts and an off-the-shoulder blouse.
“Gomez remains as innocently cute as ever with sunglasses too big for her face in the opening scene,” wrote Jeff Benjamin in Billboard about the video. “In fact, the most controversial moment of the video comes when Selena and her posse smash a pumpkin to bits.
“Not a girl, definitely… not yet a woman.”
The remix video has been colorized in high contrast montones, but it otherwise follows the original video.
“Basically the song is just encouraging people to let loose and have fund and be young and be crazy,” Gomez said of the tune. Now it’s funkier and freer than ever.
