  • One Direction, the boy band created by Simon Cowell from contestants on his UK show “The X Factor,” are priming the pump for their upcoming album with the release of a new video for “Live While We’re Young,” their bouncy pop anthem.

The band, made up of Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson debuted in the United States earlier this year on the Ellen DeGeneres Show.

Their 2011 debut album Up All Night made chart history by debuting at No. 1 on U.S. pop charts. It was the first British group in history to debut at No 1 with their first album. Second acts are always tougher, and their sophomore set, Take Me Home, hits stores Nov. 13.

“Live While We’re Young,” the lead single off the album leaked prematurely, so the band decided to go ahead and release the music video, according to MTV. The single will officially drop Oct. 1.

“We wanted our fans to see the video and hear the single in the proper way so we’ve moved the premiere to tonight,” the band said in a statement.

“We’re really excited about ‘Live While We’re Young.’ We’ve worked really hard on it, and we can’t wait for everyone to see and hear it!”

They video was filmed in England last month and features the lads on a camping trip. The pull some typical boy band poses as they goof off together.
