Lady Gaga is out to push the envelope on her new “Bad Romance” video with a little help from her friends, like ace video director Francis Lawrence. “I knew [Lawrence’s] ability as a director is so much higher than what I could [do],” Gaga told MTV News.
“There’s this one shot in the video where I get kidnapped by supermodels. I’m washing away my sins and they shove vodka down my throat to drug me up before they sell me off to the Russian mafia.”
Lawrence has worked with Britney Spears, Janet Jackson, and Gwen Stefani among others.
“It was collaborative,” she told the music channel.
“He’s a really pop video director and a filmmaker. He did ‘I Am Legend’ and I’m a huge Will Smith fan, so I knew he could execute the video.”
“I could give him all my weirdest, most psychotic ideas,” she said. “But it would come across to and be relevant to the public.”
Gaga, always known for her off-the-charts outfits doesn’t disappoint there either. Her get ups are just as bizarre as her supermodel kidnapping and Russian mafia encounter. Would you believe razor-blade sunglasses. Ouch!!
“Bad Romance” is the first song and video from her forthcoming release, The Fame Monster.
