Rita Ora, who has been called the next big thing from Britain more times than she probably can count, held her own on the UK version of “X-Factor,” sharing the stage with pop/rock powerhouse Gwen Stefani. Ora sang her hit “Shine Ya Light.”

The 21-year-old singer and actress has already won over her adopted country. She was born in Albania and moved to the UK when she was a year old.

Her album the self-named Ora debuted at No 1. in the UK in August, and three singles from the album also topped the charts. The album has been released in Australia, New Zealand and Ireland but is still waiting for a release date in the United States.

Ora credits Stefani, 43, as one of her influences, which must have made her appearance on stage with the No Doubt singer special. “Do you know how much I love that woman? I love everything about her,” she said of the Ska singer in a promotional video. She’s signed to Jay-Z’s label.

Rita wore a black sequined jacket that she whipped off during her performance to show off her toned body. Her Julien Macdonald bodysuit had just enough fabric to keep the act G-rated.
