Beyonce looked out of this world in a Tom Ford dress at her release party over the weekend.

Beyoncé kept it real, even though she looked out of this world in a black mosaic dress by Tom Ford at the release party and screening for her new self-titled album Beyonce at the School of Visual Arts Theater in New York City over the weekend.

She said her new album frightened her as much as it shocked everyone else.

She produced the 14 tracks and 17 videos under tight raps and released it without promotion or fanfare on iTunes on Dec. 13. She couldn’t have asked for a better reception. It shot straight to No. 1 on the charts and sold more than 600,000 downloads in the first three days.

But Beyoncé revealed there were no guarantees when she decided to package the album with videos. “I was terrified. I was so scared. I already envisioned like the worst things that could happen. I was really nervous because this was a huge risk,” she told reporters.

“I took all of my insecurities, all of my doubts, all of my fears and everything I’ve learned over the 17 years and I applied it into this project,” she added.

But more than the music — I’m proud of myself as a woman … the biggest message is owning your imperfections and all the things that make you interesting, because I refuse to allow someone to put me in anyone’s box.”

Beyonce got some push-back for releasing the album exclusively on iTunes. Both Target and Amazon.com refused to stock the physical CD. But she zinged the retailers by popping into Wal-Mart in Tewksbury, Mass., and handing out gift cards to shoppers.

It was a big week for the 32-year-old singer. She performed at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on Dec. 19 and held another release party at Dave & Buster’s.

Carlo’s Bakery of the TLC reality show “Cake Boss” fame whipped up a custom, record-shaped cake, featuring the album title, along with miniature cupcake versions.
