Mary J. Blige, sings on her latest video about a classic problem facing girls: “Bad boys ain’t no good, good boys ain’t no fun.” The single, “Mr. Wrong,” from her album My Life II…The Journey Continues (Act 1), also features Drake.
Blige, 40, the reigning R&B and Hip Hop queen, bears the scars of growing up hard. She said she once was borderline suicidal. But her music lately has reflected the peace she’s found.
She turns fashion plate in the video, showcasing at least three different looks. She starts out in a body hugging black dress, with an asymmetrical top, sleeveless on one side and long and puffy on the other.
Next, she shape shifts to a black leather jacket with tight curls and finally goes glamour in a red halter-top dress that cuts down to her navel.
Mary’s life took a decided turn for the better when she married manager Martin Kendu Isaacs in 2003.
Blige also scored another honor this year, an Golden Globe nomination, for her song, “The Living Proof.”
It’s on the sound track for Emma Stone’s Civil Rights drama,” The Help,” and up for Best Original Song.
Blige also sang at VH-1″s Divas Celebrates Soul concert and will appear with Tom Cruise, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Julianne Hough and Alec Baldwin in the upcoming musical film Rock of Ages.
