Gwen Stefani could be entering the most productive period in her stellar career now that she’s over 40. She as hot as ever in a new photo spread in Marie Clarie, has revived her band No Doubt and is about to push out a new album, Push and Shove. As the magazine says, she’s a Blonde Badass.

Professionally, Stefani has spent the last 10 years pursuing a solo music career and establishing a fashion line, L.A.M.B., which reflects her signature Southern California style.

But for most of the time, she was just being a mom to two children with husband, British born rocker and Bush lead singer Gavin Rossdale, 46. Today, sons Kingston is six and Zuma is four.

Stefani reveals that she tried hard for a third child when she turned 40, but couldn’t conceive. “I really, really, really wanted one about two years ago. And it didn’t really work out. So… I feel good with what we’ve got. Everything works out how it should. You can’t plan anything, right? You can try,” she said.

Since then, she’s thrown herself back into her work. She says Push and Shove is her favorite. The sixth No Doubt studio album will be released Sept. 29 by Interscope Records. “I mean, your favorite record is always the last one you did, but it really is—it’s a really great record,” she tells the magazine.

Stefani teamed up with ex-boyfriend and No Doubt bass player Tony Kanal to write the album’s songs. The lead single “Settle Down” was released in July. The album she says reflect “a lot of feelings of being overworked, overwhelmed: ‘Can’t we just slow this down? I can’t enjoy everything because I’m doing too many things.'”
