La Superica has been described as a funky little Mexican restaurant in a killer location in Sag Harbor, right off the North Haven bridge. It’s kitschy decor reflects its good-time casual atmosphere, down to the plastic palm trees.
It draws sizable crowds, both locals and tourists, attracted by its renowned Margaritas and moderately priced beer.
The frozen margaritas are giant, and the menu is almost non-stop with every kind of burrito, enchilada, fajita, and quesadilla imaginable. The portions are ample, there are always specials and twofer drink specials as well.
As Mexican restaurants go, some complain that La Superica is overpriced. But, hey, it’s the Hamptons. Get used to it. The season is short and most prices are high in the tony resort town. By comparison we’d call it moderately priced.
By virtue of its location, La Superica also delivers on atmosphere. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame the restaurant and patrons can look out over the bay as the sun sets, which has become a big event at the restaurant.
At night the bar gets crowded with Hampton wannabes and locals as well, while live reggae and rock bands often provide entertainment.
