
The council helps the museum mount world-class exhibitions of fashion and acquire important objects for its permanent collection.

It also organizes public programs, such as the annual fashion symposium. The Couture Council accomplishes these goals through collecting membership dues and by organizing fundraising events. Its annual Couture Council Awards Luncheon is one of its signature events.
At the luncheon, a chosen designer is presented with the Couture Council Award for Artistry of Fashion.
At the high tea, guests mingled at the private shop and were treated to pink champagne and a viewing of the museum quality vintage jewels.
Party favors including a leather bound memo pad with a silver pen, and chocolates from Maison du Chocolat. Fiona and Jean thanked everyone for attending and supporting FD and Couture Council.

Keith Girard four decades of experience as an award-winning reporter, editor-in-chief, and senior media executive. Keith’s career began in Washington, D.C., where he was a reporter for The Washington Post and a contributing editor for Regardie’s and Washingtonian magazines. He also worked as a writer/producer in CNN’s Washington Bureau and has written one book on the U.S. Marines in the Gulf War.
