Beth Ostrosky Stern, wife of radio shock jock Howard Stern, co-chaired the “Get Wild” Summer Gala for the The Evelyn Alexander Wildlife Rescue Center of the Hamptons, drawing on the summer redoubt’s residents for the event at Dune Beach in Southampton.
Christopher Obetz and Ellen Scarborough co-chaired the event for the center, which rescues and preserves Long Island’s native wildlife.
The event included a seaside clambake and cocktails with musical entertainment by Jetty Four.

The center also brought along Blossom the opossum, Sonja the red tailed hawk, Kaylala the great horned owl and Cutie Pie the screech owl.
A silent auction featured a men’s bomber jacket by Perry Ellis; a ladies’ packable zip jacket from Laundry by Shelli Segal; a portrait session by Kramer Portraits; a one night stay at the Hyatt East End with tickets to the Long Island Aquarium and a limited edition snowy owl sculpture from Dianne Marxe.
Guests also bid on a one hour photo session photographed by Howard Stern, which is being auctioned online until Aug. 21. Go here to bid.
“With your donations we can better maintain our medical equipment, get the best veterinary care and gather skills and training to increase our success rate. We are able to offer state-of-the-art care to our wild neighbors that so richly deserve it because they are usually injured by human activities,” said Augie Frati, the center’s executive director and founder.
