Ariana Gande lends her voice to new music by Norwegian producer Cashmere Cat. The haunting melody, called ‘Adore,’ was released today (Mar. 3).

Ariana Grande lends her soaring vocals to a haunting new tune from Norwegian producer Cashmere Cat in an extension of a collaboration that began with her second studio album My Everything.

Cashmere Cat, real name Magnus August Høiberg, is best known as a downtempo, abstract electronic music producer and DJ, according to MTV>

He hails from Halden on the Southeastern coast of Norway. It’s best known as the southernmost border-crossing with Sweden, and has a long history going back to the Bronze Age.

Today, though, it’s a hub for the nation’s info-tech industry, which may explain, in part, Høiberg’s interest in electronic music.

He’s worked with a number of Norwegian artists and has worked in the United States with Lana Del Rey, Jeremih, 2 Chainz and Miguel.

In fact, he’s sort of become the producer of the moment. He most recently worked with Kanye West and handled production on Ty Dolla $ign, Charli XCX and Tinashe song “Drop That Kitty.”

He helped out Grande on her My Everything song “Be My Baby,” and has produced to EPs on his own.

The music on “Adore” is electro-pop with numerous synth riffs. At times, it seems a little out of sync with Grande’s vocals, which sound almost operatic in contrast. But maybe that’s what makes it work.
