  • Bruno Mars will rock Twilight saga’s “Breaking Dawn, Part 1” with the first single on the movie soundtrack, titled “It Will Rain,” a haunting ballad that seems to match the movie’s darker theme, according to a tune teaser.

The Grammy-winning singer/songwriter is the first solo act to snag a spot on a Twilight soundtrack album, outside of “Twilight vampire Robert Pattinson, of course!

Previous soundtracks have featured Paramore’s “Decode,” Death Cab for Cutie’s “Meet Me on the Equinox” and Muse’s “Neutron Star Collision (Love Is Forever).” All were lead tracks.

Mars was obviously elated by the choice, which Twilight studio Summit Entertainment revealed through the official Twilight Twitter site.

“Remember that song I told yall I finished? Well its called It Will Rain #ComingSoon,” Mars tweeted.

Mars released the cover art for the single on his Facebook page. It shows him in silhouette, slouching on a chair, clutching an umbrella in one hand and a bottle in the other. Paint is streaked across the background.

Needless to say artists are eager to have their songs added to the soundtrack and it’s become a game of speculation to figure out what will appear.

Some reports claimed that Noisettes tune “Sister Rosetta (Capture the Spirit)” might join Mars’ song.
It was featured in the a San Diego Comic Con clip from the movie about Bella’s wedding.

Evanescence also suggested the band is in the running last August.

“I’ve been screaming for [new song] ‘My Heart Is Broken’ to land in that, because I think it would fit the story so well,” said said drummer Will Hunt.

The single will be released worldwide on iTunes Tuesday (Sept. 27).

The soundtrack album is set to come out in the U.S. Nov. 8, ten days before the movie hits theaters. You can pre-order it now through TheImproper at amazon.com for $15.07. The price is guaranteed. Click the link above.
