Insanity: Trump Goes Off Deep End With Reckless Obama Wiretap Allegations

In a reckless movie possibly timed to cynically divert attention from his growing Russia scandal, Donald Trump claimed today in a series of Tweets that President Obama “wiretapped” his campaign offices prior to the election. The remark caused a political firestorm and led to questions about Trump’s sanity. After a rough week that saw Attorney General Jeff Sessions recuse himself from a Justice Department investigation into Russia’s election interference, Trump out of the blue published the Tweets at the ungodly hour of 3:35 a.m. this morning....

Going Rogue: Trump Staffer Posts Funny, Scary Tweets On Life Inside White House

Donald Trump likes to brag that everything is running smoothly inside the White House, but an alleged staffer has created an anonymous Twitter account detailing what it’s like working with Kellyanne Conway, Rince Priebus, Vice President Mike Pence and the master of darkness himself… Stephen Bannon. It’s not a pretty picture inside the presidential mansion, but often it’s a hilarious one....

Trump vs Truth: John Oliver Calls President Trump a ‘Pathological Liar’

President Trump is still struggling with the levers of power, including some fundamental ones, like telling the truth. But John Oliver sets him straight on HBO’s “Last Week Tonight.” He says it’s time to examine “reality itself.” Trump has been caught in one lie after another since taking office, including repeating whoppers he told on the campaign trail....

Trump Strong-Arms Chief Executives, While Pursuing Bogus Economic Policies

Donald Trump is increasingly using strong-arm tactics to direct business decisions that should be left to corporate boards, while he chases demons. If he keeps up, he will cause economic distortions and inefficiencies that could lead to a major trade war and a recession. Trump has promoted his policy by attacking U.S. trade agreements. But that strategy is based on a false premise that goes back decades....

Sanctity of Marriage Goes Out Window in Donald Trump Administration

When Donald Trump takes office today as the nation’s 45th president, he will usher in the era of the trophy wife, something Washington hasn’t seen since President Ronald Reagan, who was married twice, although Nancy Reagan had been his wife for 38 years when he took office. Every other president in the nation’s history, including all other 20th century presidents up to President Obama was faithful to their marital oath....

Rich Got Richer While Half the Nation Saw Wealth Decline to 1 Percent, Study Says

If you’re poor in American you are not alone. Over the past 24 years, 50 percent of the nation saw their share of wealth fall to just 1 percent, while America’s richest families saw their wealth grow significantly, according to a new study. The findings confirm that a significant portion of society has been disenfranchised from the economy. The findings, contained in a study by the Savings and Retirement Foundation of Washington, D.C., and published by the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) does not bode well for the nation....

Imagine Obama Legacy Without GOP Sabotage, And the Disaster That Awaits

As we careen, head-on, toward Jan. 20 like a locomotive with no brakes, it’s worth taking a moment to reflect on President Obama’s legacy and wonder what might have been if Republicans in Congress hadn’t sabotaged and obstructed him at every turn without any regard for the nation’s welfare. Obama may have been set up to fail, but he will still go down in history as one of the nation’s great presidents....

Donald Trump Con: In Classic Bait and Switch, Wants Taxpayers to Pay for Wall

Donald Trump displayed the art of the con in classic bait and switch on voters. He now wants taxpayers to pay for his Mexican wall and claims he’ll get the money from Mexico later. Another campaign promise bites the dust. Trump repeated over and over again that he would build a wall to keep out illegal immigrants. In a boast of his so-called negotiating acumen, he said, Mexico would pay the cost....

Trump, a ‘Would-Be Dictator’ Surrounded by Extremists, Imperils Democracy–Soros

Donald Trump has been slammed by his harshest criticism yet. Billionaire George Soros, who escaped Nazism as a child, called the president-elect a “would-be dictator” who has surrounded himself with extremists. “Democracy is now in crisis,” Soros warns in a new essay. “Even the US, the world’s leading democracy, elected a con artist and would-be dictator as its president,” he wrote on his Web site Project Syndicate....

Sen. Trump F-35 Program Threat Will Hurt U.S. Defense; Another Tip to Russia?

Donald Trump threatened to cancel the much-maligned F-35 Lightning II Strike Fighter program yesterday, a move that would hurt the nation’s defense and provide a much needed boost to Russia, which would have to develop expensive new counter-measures if the plane goes into combat service. Trump’s unexpected criticism of the program, purportedly because of its cost, came out of left field and sent the plane maker’s stock plummeting yesterday by almost 2 percent....
