Taylor Swift’s large fan base makes her a natural for branding opportunities, but even if she wasn’t the a country music queen, she could easily make a splash on the runways of New York, Paris and Milan.
Swift shows her magic in a new commercial for Wonderstruck, the newest fragrance in her perfume line, which is set to go on sale in October in time for the Christmas rush.
The fragrance has been described as fruity and floral with hints of raspberry, apple blossom, golden amber and sandalwood.
With her flowing gold locks and thin statuesque build, she dazzles in the full-length commercial, which debuted last night during the Fox’s “X Factor” music talent show.
“It’s a spark, a connection, a rush of something new,” Swift says in a breathy voice in a 46-second teaser.
The clip opens with fleeting glipses of Swift in an antebellum looking Christian Siriano gown that’s a flourish of ruffles.
There’s the back of her dress, her hand, and then Swift descending a sweeping staircase in a mystical mansion.
It cuts to her face and then dissolves into more images, including a swarthy looking man.
“Once you’ve been struck, you’ll never be the same again,” she says.
The ad uses one of her songs, “Enchanted” as background music.
Swift announced plans for the fragrance in July.
“It goes out into the world and becomes a part of people’s daily lives,” she said. “It was fascinating to learn that you can layer so many different scents to create a beautiful end result.”
Swift says it’s the kind of perfume that leave a lasting impression.
“A fragrance can help shape someone’s first impression and memory of you,” she explains. “It’s exciting to think that Wonderstruck will play a role in creating some of those memories.”
