You can take Carrie Underwood out of the country but you can’t get the country out of Carrie, even when she’s posing for high-fashion Glamour magazine. The frills are one thing, but a pickup truck?
Underwood has undeniable model good looks and even flashes a little cleavage in a football jersey for the magazine’s May issue. And, yes, she poses with a rusty old pickup truck.
Her new album, Blown Away, debuts in stores today (May 1), and she is following up with a tour in support of the project.

While the country sweetheart maintains a squeaky-clean image, Blown Away is considered her darkest album yet. “We kill a couple people,” she says.
“It wouldn’t be a Carrie Underwood album without a revenge song on it. People really like when I do that. I don’t mean to. I don’t hate men that much. But it turns out so well!”
Carrie, 29, who won the fourth season of Fox’s hit show “American Idol,” was born in Muskogee, Oka., and raised on her parents’ farm in the rural town of Checotah, Oka., so her country roots are totally legitimate.
Carried married pro hockey player Mike Fisher in 2010.
She says famed and riches haven’t spoiled her or compromised the credibility of her music. “It would be very hard to write about my Louboutins … my giant house, it’s not relatable,” she says.
“But my husband came from a small town and hardworking parents like I did, and I don’t think we’ve lost that mind-set. We don’t have a bowling alley in our basement. We don’t have houses on the beach and one in New York and one in L.A.
“I drive a 3-year-old Ford Escape Hybrid. We don’t care about stuff like that,” she says.
“He knew what to expect,” the singer says. “In Canada he was a big celebrity, so he knows what it’s like living under a microscope.
And he travels a lot, which is good for both of us. We’re both independent people.”
