The Palm West crowd includes theater cast members, pre- and post-theater diners and lots and lots of carnivorous, loud and jovial celebrities; Yes even George Clooney has paid a visit, thanks to it’s killer location in New York City’s Theater District.
Executive Chef Michael England opened The Palm in Atlantic City in 2005 as line cook, according to the company’s Web site.
After spending six months in that job, his talent was quickly recognized. He moved up the ranks to Sous Chef before taking control of the kitchen as Atlantic City Executive Chef.
A Pennsauken native, England recognized his passion for the industry and began his restaurant career in 1994 as a high school junior. After graduating from Atlantic County Community College in 2000, Michael began making a name for himself in the South Jersey market.
Among his positions Michael worked as a County Club executive banquet chef and Sous Chef for Express Restaurant in Surf City before joining the Palm family in 2005.
England’s strong work ethic, professionalism and creativeness have moved him into his dream job at The Palm.
When Michael isn’t serving up signature Palm dishes, he loves the Jersey shore. England has made his home in Long Beach Island where he spends his free time surfing and relaxing with a good movie.
Under his guidance, steaks rule and the portions are huge! Prime aged New York strips and Porterhouses highlight the menu.
Desserts are obscene — one is big enough for six people. So bring friends!
