    Zucchero Sojourn to Cuba Yields New Latin, Cuban, Tex-Mex Album

    When I heard that one of my favorite artists, Grammy-nominated Italian blues-rock singer Zucchero, had released a new album called La Sesion Cubana, produced by Don Was no less, I knew it was going to be a terrific project. Turns out the album had been a long-time dream. “My music comes from blues, from soul and from gospel,” Zucchero says. "This project is a trip from New Orleans to Cuba via Mexicali. Latin, Cuban and Tex-Mex sounds and rhythms melt together dancing. Hasta l’asta siempre."...

    Katy Perry and Glee’s Dianna Agron were among celebrities who attended the Museum of Contemporary Art’s 35th Anniversary Gala in Los Angeles, burnishing the troubled museum’s reputation and bottom line. The event, sponsored by fashion brand Louis Vuitton, also honored Philippe Vergne, the museum’s new director.     Lorde Makes History: NYC Debut at Roseland Ballroom (video, photos)

    Lorde, the New Zealand pop sensation who stormed the charts last year with her hit song “Royals,” seemed a fitting opening act for the Roseland Ballroom’s final month as a concert venue. Lorde, 17, one of music’s hottest up-and-coming artists, made her New York City debut at the ballroom, making her one of the last acts in its 58-year history. Lady Gaga, a native New Yorker, will close out the venue with seven shows, starting March 28 through April 7....
