The Material Girl is still going strong at 56 with the release of her new album Rebel Heart.
Her 13th studio album debuted at No. 2 on the US album charts and quickly hit No. 1. It also hit No. 1 in a dozen other countries. The music represents two different sides, her heart and her rebelliousness, the singer has said.
“Bitch I’m Madonna,” definitely reps the rebellious side. The album track features rapper Nicki Minaj Diplo produced much of the album as well as the song.
Madonna has a co-writing credit with Thomas Wesley Pentz, Maureen McDonald Toby Gad, Ariel Rechtshaid and Onika Tanya Maraj.
It’s simply a declaration of her badness as the ultimate club girl.
“We go hard or we go home.
We gon do this all night long.
We get freaky if you want,
B*tch I’m Madonna.”
During her interview, Madonna talked about her early days in the business back in the 1980s.
The best part of the early days is that there’s no expectation. There’s no pressure. You’re free to do whatever you want. In those days, there was no social media, so you just had to take your cassette tapes out, go to all the clubs, take the subway — whatever. You know what I mean?”
Madonna also performed her song “Holiday,” from her self-named 1983 debut album, with Fallon and The Roots using classroom instruments.
