Crosby, Stills & Nash Jam Like the ’60s at LA’s Greek Theater (video!)

Crosby, Stills and Nash played its second of sold out show at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles last night (Oct. 4) as part of an extension of the band’s “Three Together” tour, playing new material as well as some of the classics that defined ’60s and ’70s rock music. The band, David Crosby, Steven Stills and Graham Nash, also helped define the ’60s-era counter-culture with songs like “Wooden Ships,” “Ohio,” and “Woodstock.” The trio, noted for their three-part harmonies played together for the first time at the legendary Woodstock Music and Arts Festival. Before that however, each had established themselves in ’60s-era supergroups....

Stephen Stills put on a show at Madison Square Garden back in 1971, supporting his second solo album Stephen Stills 2. It was a mess from start to finish, but I couldn’t take my eyes off him. It was a brilliant failure that I’ve never forgotten. The definitive collection of his music could well be Rhino Records’ newly released a four-CD set, called Carry On....

David Crosby to Weigh in on Election on Brett Winterble, XM Radio

David Crosby, who personified the ’60s counterculture through his music with The Byrds and Crosby, Stills & Nash (sometimes Young), is hip deep in the presidential fray along with bandmate Stephen Stills, who’s lambasting GOP candidate Mitt Romney. Crosby will be featured on Brett Winterble’s show on XM Satellite Radio (Channel 168) on Monday (Nov. 5). The interview could be electric. Winterble used to work for right-wing screamer and conspiracy formentor Rush Limbaugh....
