Taylor Swift’s full-version of her new single “I Knew You Were Trouble,” has gone viral on the Internet after it was released on iTunes at midnight. It looks like ex-boyfriend Jake Gyllenhaal takes another shot in the kisser for doing her wrong. She might as well dedicate her entire upcoming album “Red” to him, or at least give him a co-writing credit. Swift previewed the third single from the album yesterday on ABC’s “Good Morning America.” It’s another broken heart song like her two previous releases from the album. ...

Defaced Rothko at London’s Tate Raises Security Questions Anew

A Mark Rothko painting defaced at London’s Tate Modern museum over the weekend once again raises questions about how to balance security against the desire to give the public the best experience possible while viewing priceless works of art. A man at the Tate was able to walk up to the Rothko’s untitled 1958 painting best known as “Black on Maroon” and mark a slogan on it in black paint. He was gone in a matter of minutes. The slogan “Vladimir Umanets ’12, a potential piece of yellowism,” doesn't seem to have a direct connection to Rothko or the work....

Miley Cyrus is showing growing maturity in her singing style with the release of another standard, “Look What They’ve Done With My Song, Ma.” It’s part of her “Backyard Sessions,” recorded over the summer, “BH,” i.e. before haircut. Cyrus, 19, sings backed by an acoustic band. The music is stripped down and she sails on the power of her voice and her emotional delivery. Miley recorded the songs during the early summer with Stacy Jones on drums, Mike Schmid on piano, Jamie Arentzen on guitar, Jaco Curaco on Guitar and Vashon Johnson on Bass. Celine Dion, Jennifer Hudson and Usher will headline a special tribute concert in memory of pop icon Whitney Houston, who died in February on the eve of the Grammy Awards from complications related to drug abuse. The one-hour CBS Entertainment special will tape Oct. 11 at the Nokia Theatre L.A. and air on CBS Nov. 16 at 10pm. It’s titled “We Will Always Love You: A Grammy Salute To Whitney Houston.” The special will include interviews and clips from Houston’s most memorable performances, including never-seen-before footage. Rihanna looks skyward for the inspiration for her latest song, “Diamonds (in the Sky).” It’s a love ballad with a thumping bass set against piano and synthesizers. She implores her lover to “shine bright like a diamond.” Almost every move the singer makes these days is interpreted by the trashier tabloids as some kind of gesture involving her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown. It seems likely the same interpretation will be applied to this song. Although the title is also a play off The Beatles’ 1967 song “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds.” The song was widely interpreted to be about the drug LSD, although The Beatles denied it. So maybe Rihanna is just singing to her blunt....
