Rihanna talks about her tattoos adding to her latest revelations about her taste for rough sex as she dons fishnet stockings and not much else for the cover of FHM magazine’s Australian edition.

The 23-year-old singer also talks about her first foray on the big screen. She has a part in a new sci-fi movie called “Battleship.”

She tells the magazine her favorite tattoo is inked across her collarbone — backwards!

It reads: “Never a failure, always a lesson.” She had it spelled out in reverse so she can read it in a mirror, a reminder about the ups and downs she’ll face in her career.

But Rihanna has been on a definite upward trajectory since a low point in her career in 2009 when she was brutally assaulted by her then-boyfriend Chris Brown.

She’s been featured on the covers of Vogue magazine where she talked about her strained relationship with her father, and Rolling Stone where she revealed her taste for submissiveness and spanking.

“Being submissive in the bedroom is really fun,” she said. “You get to be a little lady, to have somebody be macho and in charge of your s—. That’s fun to me … I like to be spanked. Being tied up is fun.”

“I like to keep it spontaneous. Sometimes whips and chains can be overly planned — you gotta stop, get the whip from the drawer downstairs. I’d rather have him use his hands,” she said.

Her debut film is scheduled to hit theaters next summer. She plays Raikes, a weapons officer, and underwent real military training for the role to learn how to handle weapons.

The drill sergeant apparently gave her the full routine. “It was so scary. It was horrible. I just wanted to scream right back at him, but I couldn’t,” she said.
