Ten-year-old Anna Christine got America’s Got Talent off to a good start.

Anna Christine bowled over judges on “America’s Got Talent,” with her booming voice — no small feat for a 10-year-old. But the pre-teen showed amazing poise and powerful vocals.

She sang an old folk song, “House of the Rising Sun,” made a pop culture touchstone by English rock group The Animals in 1964.

But playing the piano, she put her own spin on the song in a slower, more melodic arrangement that had the judges shaking their heads in disbelief.

“We’re looking in New York for a superstar, and I think we might have just found one,” said radio shock-jock judge Howard Stern, usually not one to sugarcoat his views.

“That can’t be a 10-year-old girl’s voice,” added judge Heidi Klum. The supermodel and UK pop star and former Spice Girl Melanie Brown, aka Mel B, debuted on the show last night and hit the ground running.

    They replaced judge Sharon Osbourne.

Brown and judge Howie Mandel were also effusive. “[You] just blew my mind,” Mandel gushed.

The hit show, hosted by Mariah Carey’s husband Nick Cannon, returned for its eighth season, and Anna Christine was the standout among other contestants.
